In early December, Middle Tech Europe coalition held two days of productive engagement in Brussels. Members met with representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament to exchange views on digital simplification, implementation of the DSA and AI Act, the upcoming Digital Fairness Act, and protection of minors online.
The discussions highlighted the need for digital legislation that is targeted, evidence-based, proportionate, and practical for companies operating at scale. Middle Tech Europe gained valuable insights and remains a constructive, solutions-focused voice in these ongoing policy debates.
The Brussels visit also marked a key milestone for the coalition, with the first public introduction of Middle Tech Europe during a networking reception. We thank everyone who joined this important moment and especially recognize MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú for her compelling opening remarks and support. Her acknowledgment of Middle Tech companies as a vital and diverse part of Europe’s digital ecosystem emphasized their unique perspective in shaping digital policy.
Middle Tech Europe will continue to advocate for a fair, diverse and open internet, serving as the collective voice of Middle Tech companies in EU policy discussions.
